On the first official day the United States of America was born, beaming its promise of freedom to a world seeped in darkness, an un presented world power was in its first stages of infancy.   This country was part of a larger plan that would call on the courage, and preservation of her men and women in the United States armed forces. They would sacrifice our own, for their love of freedom, and rescue Europe and parts of Asia from Nazi tyranny, twice in the same century.  Brother against brother, slavery would find a voice for freedom, from her own  battlefield's.

America would flourish and grow strong on the backs of the hard earned voyagers that came from all parts of the world, to settle her lands, and would soon after, have to fight for her independence.

From farmers, and business men, the dedication of patriots arose to claim their rights of taxation with representation. To accomplish that they would have to form a union, dedicated to the equality of all, governed by the elected, and united under one cause, independence and freedom, for the right to the pursuit of happiness.

The patriots drew up a magnificent charter for the new government. A 'Declaration of Independence' that promised freedom to all whom came here to live. Her belly would be swollen with adversities from within and without but like a lush mountain vine she would become fruitful and rise to her destiny.

Her brave men and women would rise to the call and travel across continents to protect those citizens from conquerors within, and without. With Americas help the oppressed and the oppressors would rise to new heights of prestige and prosperity. America took no spoilage, and came to the financial help of friend and foe, in order to help the war torn countries to prosper and to rebuild.

There are white crosses  nearly everywhere an American soldier has fallen, in order to stay the course of freedom at all costs. Many countries around the world have hillsides dotted with these white shrines of gallantry. America has a destiny. Many times she has gallantly, and with a heavy heart had to rise to the occasion of protection from conquers and oppressors attacking  a weaker nation. This is unprecedented in world history.

While immorality gnaws at America's stomach, ready to devour her, there are millions of kind, caring people reaching out all over the world with a helping hand, to the poor, the maimed, the sick, the helpless. These Americans are a new kind of hero for where the sunsets on hunger they are there. Where it sets on the homeless, the spiritually starved, the hopeless in heart, they are there, to dry a tear, to feed the hungry, to give hope to the broken, to build a family, a community, a church. Whenever disasters hit they are there.

Our brave men and women are fighting an invisible enemy that would not only destroy our fighting heroes but everything our helping heroes stand for. When I see our flag rise and hear our national Anthem, I stand in awe at what America stands for and for what she has accomplished. I and millions like me will not take lightly the threat of tyranny within, that would deny all that our forefathers foresaw, is necessary to keep a strong union. America is a  union under God, blessed, and chosen, to sustain hope to all that cherish freedom in a world fraught with danger.

When I hear the bugle's taps, my heart and prayers go out to the family. When I see a smile on a child's face that knows freedom from fear and hunger for the first time in their tiny lives, I cry. When I hear the echo of the clang of a prison door, I shudder, for failure is all of our responsibility to avoid . Freedom from fear, hunger, hopelessness, is too precious. It must not be taken away by the enemy, weather within or without. I

Independence is responsibility, dedication, a promise, and a future for everyone. It is hope in a troubled world. Freedom must flourish and the darkness of the world must cease in order to stay free. Independence is an honor, a crown of joy, a respect for human dignity, a love for life, and a receipt for living life to its fullness.
